We give thanks to the Lord

For green mountains and peaceful sea, for lilies of spring and defoliation of autumn;
For the sun, the moon and stars in the heaven,
For the beauty and love filled in the universe;
We give thanks to the Lord,
We give thanks to the Lord,
We give thanks by singing hymn.

For the wonderful grace and the treasurable love,
We praise to the Lord thankfully.
For the people around us no matter elder or young,
For the joy, friendship and the warm hand;
For the brothers, sisters, and beloved family,
For the friends concern each other on the ground;
We give thanks to the Lord,
We give thanks to the Lord
We give thanks by singing hymn

For the wonderful grace and the treasurable love,
We praise to the Lord thankfully
For the silent infant lying in the manger,
For the person teaches us pray in wilderness;
For the teacher helps us to love and forgive,
For the Lord dies to give us live eternally
We give thanks to the Lord,
We give thanks to the Lord
We give thanks by singing hymn

For the wonderful grace and the treasurable love,
We praise to the Lord thankfully

Holy the Lord, we praise and thank.

That night, my choir went to Living Spring Church for singing hymns on Dec. 25, 2009.
Living Spring Church is hidden in a narrow alley of Hua-Xi street. The scenario is hard to imagine that night market, red-light district and the church are built side by side. This church is concerned with vagrants and everyone who goes the church admire Pastor Wu and his wife. They not only need to be accustomed to the loud night market but also need to get peace with stinking bodies. Pastor Wu told the story of the birth of Lord Jesus Chris and the origin of the song “Silent night”. “I give thanks to Lord”, vagrants and my choir sang this song with thanksgiving and it touched everyone through the melody. Though someone frivolously said “We just come to eat dinner”, I heard some sobs quietly and I knew that His love comforts people in different ways.

I have never be Long-Shan temple since I came to Taipei and this is my first time to know that so many vagrants here. The choir and the vagrants sang songs in the red-light district, where have surprised eyes, empty eyes, warm applauses, splendid smiles, girls with too much makeup, vagrants with blanket and the choir shouting the gospel. It is a strong contrast beside the night market in that night and I don’t know if the cold night have heard of the warm voices? A night may not let people know about Jesus, but if there has any word or any impression, hope the seed of hope will be stay in their heart. We were singing “I give thanks to Lord”.

Thank Dan coming back from Netherlands to help the communication between two churches. Though he said this is because he has a vagrant’s image, I believe that God will memorize those serving in His name.
